Rabbithole Coffee & Roaster

+++ Update January 2015: This is now closed +++

I’ve been travelling on the mid-levels escalator for a number of times now, eyeing the second-level coffee shop on Cochrane Street. I’ve noticed it a few weeks ago already, but every time I was in this area I was either rushing to meet someone and had no spare 5 minutes, or it was too late in the day to grab a coffee.

So after visiting Heirloom Eatery in Sheung Wan Patrick and I made sure to visit this new coffee hot spot.

Rabbithole opened in January 2012 and is one of the few places in Hong Kong where they roast their own beans (offsite – but still!).

They had a few kinds of coffee beans and a few roasts of each, available as coffee made with any of their machines (as an espresso, filter drip, press coffee, syphon, cold/ice drip, or so on).

We tried a refreshing Ethiopian Red Cherry espresso as well as a cappuccino and were pleasantly surprised.

I am sure we’ll be back to try the other coffee sorts and preparation methods too!
