Marina in Discovery Bay

The other day (before the storm – so it might look slightly different now) I was walking down to the Marina in Discovery Bay, to have a look at the boats – some are really beautiful and nice to look at.

I know that some people do live on their boats all year round and they tend to stay in the harbour all the time – but there are a few that do leave for the day and come back in the evening.

The Marina provides 220 finger piers and 42 dry stacking spaces and lift out facilities for boats.

There is also a club house, but I’ve never been there. I don’t even know if you can go there without being a member.

Most of the boats are big yachts, but there are a few sailing boats too – it would be nice to know how to sail!
