Christmas decorations 2012 in the Venetian Macau

Of course, we also had to visit a casino; given it was the first time my cousin was in Macau. We picked the Venetian, just because of its sheer size and craziness. Not only is it massive, but also it is always packed with lots of people.

We squeezed our way through the Canal Grande shopping area, with its fake Italian shop fronts, the canal with the boats and the gondoliers, who are not Italian and don’t sing. There was a little bit of Christmas decorations, but mainly just Christmas lights at the side of the canal. Apart from that, you could not tell what season it was and not even what time of the day. It was way too warm in there too, we saw lots of people with shorts and flip-flops, but it only had 15 degrees outside. Crazy people.

We then walked over to the casino. In the great hall was what we had expected to see – a massive oversized huge Christmas tree. Christmas decorations in full glory. I don’t think it can get any bigger than this…
