Happy Year of the Snake

The year of the snake has started yesterday – today is already the second day of the New Year. You might have been to this year’s Parade yesterday, but I did not go. I’ve been the two years before and really enjoyed it.

Today will be the fireworks at Victoria Harbor at 8pm for about 23 minutes – best places to view it are from the Avenue of the Stars or in front of the Cultural Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. Again, I’ve been there in 2011 and 2012 and it was amazing, but this year I’m not going. If you are going – have fun!

2013 is the year of the black Snake begins and it is being said that this year will be the year for steady progress and attention to detail. Apparently, focus and discipline will be necessary for you to achieve what you set out to create.

There are lots of wise articles on the Internet and in newspapers, telling you what it means if you are born in the Year of the Snake and also what could happen to you in the Year of the Snake. All quite interesting, but the one wisdom that made me laugh hard out loud, is this one “a Snake in the house is a good omen because it means that your family will not starve” – great, I rather starve than having a real snake in the house!

Kung Hei Fat Choi and all the best for you and your families – here’s a nice Year of the Snake ad that I really like:
