I’ve once been to the one in London, years ago. It was a fun day out – so now I’m thinking of going to the affordable art fair that’s for the first time in Hong Kong next weekend. I only became aware of it after noticing one of the double-decker trams with a full-size advertisement travelling through Wan Chai.
The three-day event starts next Friday, March 15, and hosts a wealth of galleries (83 in total, some from Hong Kong, Singapore, Seoul, London, Paris, Manila, New York etc.) and a huge array of contemporary art. It will take place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai, so close to my new office.
The concept is simple: thousands of original paintings, prints, sculpture and photography all under one roof, and all between HK $1,000 and HK $100,000 and 75% priced below HK $75,000.
Check out the website for info about talks and activities.
