It’s not just Earth Hour in Hong Kong this weekend, more importantly (for sports fans) it is Hong Kong Sevens.
The Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens 2013 begins this afternoon and features 28 of the world’s top rugby teams. Today is officially the first day of this infamous weekend. The first few games start at 4pm. It’s not fancy dress, just a sociable evening. Saturday is the biggest day of the three with games from 9am to 8pm. This is the chance to show off your fancy dress in all its glory! Sunday is the final day with lots more games and the final around 6pm.
If you could not get any tickets (not unlikely, given the high demand), don’t worry – there are lots of different parties around town.
For example, there will be live screenings at The Pawn along with beers, cocktails and new bar snacks. For the biggest post-rugby party in town head to the LKF Rugby Fest. There will be over 20 beer booths lining the streets of LKF and lots of entertainment, music and people. Of course, you could also head to the more high-end Armani/Prive and enjoy mini burgers and hot dogs as well as beer and other drinks on the rooftop terrace.
Almost every bar or restaurant in Hong Kong will be celebrating the Sevens in their way – will you be joining in?
