Google Reader is dead. Long live Google Reader

A number of you use Google Reader to visit and read the blog through the RSS feed – so I hope you are aware that Google Reader is shutting down on July 1, 2013.

Google Reader

But don’t worry, there are other reader options, which include Feedly (which allows you to migrate your data and feeds easily – I’m already using it), Newsblur, Newsfire and Bloglovin – you can sign up here to follow my blog on Bloglovin.

If you’re on an iPad or other tablet or mobile device, Flipboard is pretty nifty, too. Soon there will also be Digg Reader – it’s currently in Beta but you can sign up for it already. Gigaom also has a couple of other suggestions here.

Another option is to have blog posts/entries e-mailed to you, which you can do by filling out the form at the left hand side of your screen. Your e-mail address is never shared from there and it’s only used to send you blog posts, which you can cancel at any time.

By the way, I found an interesting infographic showing all the different Google products that have ceased to exist. Quite a few!
