Yes it is December, Christmas music is playing in every shopping mall and there are decorations everywhere… so I was not too surprised when I spotted this modern ‘wish tree’ at the Statue Square from the tram in Central.
It’s actually not a tree, but three contemporary dandelions that are 15 metres high and change their colour every few seconds. Next to them, on the ground, are their contemporary seeds – which also change the colour every few seconds (synchronised to the music that is playing).
So clearly you can work out what this means? No? You are supposed to make a wish (which you can write on a card) and then the wind will blow it away and hopefully your wish will come true.
In case you are wondering about previous decorations… here is the link to the Tiffani carousel that was on the same spot in 2011. I preferred that to the WISH tree, if I’m honest!
