Sunset over Victoria Harbour

Chinese New Year had been so hot and sunny – it was unbelievable. Especially from the miserable, grey and cold CNY that we experienced in 2013 and 2012. It was really nice. But apparently that was not a big surprise to my Hong Kong colleagues, they had told me that the first day of winter was so cold that the first day of the CNY had to be hot. It was an old prediction that has been proven true so many times, including this year.

I had friends visiting so I was out and about in town. I have been up the peak, around the backstreets of Soho and Central, on different buses and ferries and just enjoyed the great weather in Hong Kong.

Here are some pictures from Tsim Sha Tsui, looking over the Harbour, which have been taken when the sun was setting. It was not that hazy, but the light made it appear so.

In fact, it was quite a clear day as you can see the skyline and the Victoria Peak – not the best day every, but it is actually quite a nice view!

  1. I didn’t mind the hot weather much when I was living in Hong Kong. It was just the pollution and constant construction that got to me.

Nice to see that you experienced a mild Chinese New Year. Here is hoping that the pollution situation improves.

    • Thanks! The weather has dropped considerably now… and it’s grey and miserable. So not the best start to the New Year, I’m afraid. It can only get better.
