1,600 papier-mache pandas are in town

Remember my previous post about 1,600 papier-mâché pandas travelling to Hong Kong? Well, they have arrived now and they are the talk of the town!

I have not had time to see them for myself, so all these pictures are from the SCMP, who did a great story about them a few days ago:

They have checked in at the airport and have already visited a few of the city’s landmarks, including the Big Buddha on Lantau…

… the Clock Tower in TST …

… at the Ma Wan Beach …

… and of course, the Star Ferry …

The pandas will be on display at the former police married quarters in Central from June 25 to July 17. If you are interested, you can also ‘adopt’ a panda and bring him/her home for a fee of 200-450 HKD, and the money will go to the WWF Hong Kong for a good cause (to protect the real-life pandas).
