Best Spas in Hong Kong (2014)

My blog posts about best spas in Hong Kong from last year is really popular – so I figured it is time for an update. I’ve tried a number of new locations and revisited some of my favourites.

Body massages:
I have not been very adventurous this year – I only tried Amrita Spa in Central, which is a small spa tucked away in one of the tiny streets of Central. It is a little bit hard to find and it only has a few treatment rooms – but it is clean, the service is good and the massage was nice. Overall, it was a little bit soft for me, but it was still enjoyable! Amrita Spa is on the 1st Floor, 8-12 Gilman’s Bazaar, Central, Tel. 2815 5590.

Amrita Spa

My all time favourite still has to be The Hermitage Spa – I loved it over the last years, I still love it this year. Great service, the personnel is highly skilled, the rooms are quite, the shower room is spacious and clean and the massages are strong. The Hermitage Spa is at 18/F, South China Building, No. 1 Wyndham Street, Central.

Foot Massages
The last few months I’ve tried a few different places. I’ve been to Happy Foot in Lan Kwai Fong, which is good but can get crowded. I’ve been a few times when I found it a bit too noisy – and even when i booked I had to wait for an available chair. Happy Foot has several branches, but I’ve only been to 19th & 20th floor, Century Square, No.1 D’Aguilar Street, Central, Tel. 2522 1151.

Still a very good place is Ten Feet Tall. Love the easiness of going to L Place in Central and that the prices are cheaper on Monday-Thursday, it’s a good excuse to go there early in the week! Ten Feet Tall is at 20/F and 21/F, L Place, 139 Queen’s Road Central, Central.

Ban Thai

But my new favourite is Ban Thai, tucked away in the Wan Chai Market. Amazing foot massages for 165 HKD and all in a very calming atmosphere. They also do proper massages, which I’m still to try – but if it is anything to go by the foot massage, then the body massage should be amazing! Ban Thai, 2/F, Galway Court, 9 Cross Street, Wan Chai, Tel. 2891 7224.

In the past, I recommended different places – but nowadays I only go to Cleopatra’s, as the team there knows how to handle my skin best, they take all the time in the world to really clean it and get rid of all the impurities. They use dermalogica products, which are great for my skin. Cleopatra’s is at Flat A, 2/F, Yan King Court, no.119-121 Queen’s Road East, Wan Chai.

Spa Cleopatra's

If I can’t get an appointment there, then I would go to Sense of Touch in Lan Kwai Fong. It’s a bit hit and miss, depending on who does the facial, but if I insist on a deep clean one without cream at the then, my skin can usually cope with it quite well. Sense of Touch, 1-5F, 52 D’Aguilar Street, Lan Kwai Fong, Central, Tel: 2526 6918.
