Hong Kong Arts Festival 2015

The advance booking period sale for the Hong Kong Arts Festival 2015 has already started. It will run until December 2 and you can score between 5 per cent (for 3-4 performances) and 15 per cent discount (for 7+ more performances) – but what is much more important for me, is that you can actually reserve seats, as most events are likely to sell out quickly!

If you are interested in opera, you could watch Rimsky-Korsakov’s thrilling opera, The Tsar’s Bride or several Cantonese operas.

Maybe you are more interested in dance? Then you could choose from performances by the Dutch National Ballet dancing Cinderella, Gala Flamenca and/or the Bolshoi Ballet dancing Jewels.

For music lovers, there will be classic concerts like Christian Thielemann and the Staatskapelle Dresden playing Strauss, Bruckner, Liszt and Wagner, David Fung’s Piano Recital or Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, playing Mahler, Adams and Dvorak.

If jazz is more thing than maybe you want to listen to Cassandra Wilson or Bobby McFerrin.

In terms of world music, the Barefoot Divas will be performing – and my favourite band of the 2015 Arts Festival: Pink Martini.
