I stumbled by coincidence into this light green (or turquoise?) wonderland in the Lane Crawford store at the IFC shopping mall – and I thought I was back in London again. Do you know the marvellous Fortnum and Mason shop with the big windows in Green Park, London? It is fantastic to look at and so dangerous… I could never walk passed it without picking up a tin of tea or a package of chocolates.
Knowing that Fortnum and Mason products are now stocked in Hong Kong is going to be a threat to my purse. But to be honest: I can’t wait to get my hands on a Royal Blend or Queen Anne Blend tea! Good quality tea is hard to find (and no, don’t get me started on Liptons or PG tips, I don’t consider those to be proper tea) and you really have to look hard for specialist brands, such as Tea from Les Jardins de Gaia.
Back to this wonderland at IFC: I noticed they also stock the Countess Grey tea, which is a mix of Orange Pekoe and Earl Grey that I have never tried, to this could be a nice present for me (hint hint…).
But don’t worry if you don’t like tea – Fortnum and Mason at Lane Crawford stocks lots of other goodies too (although their tea is famous) including biscuits, truffles, champagne, mugs, china etc. So have a look – it’s on the third floor of the IFC, right at the heart of the Lane Crawford store – and who knows, you might bump into me, buying one of these lovely tea tins again (and again and again).
And if you don’t want to go to the actual store, you can online the products here.
