Art exhibition: White on Black at PMQ

Too late… as almost always. But again, an art exhibition that I enjoyed: “White on Black”. It was on show at the PMQ until March 19.

The prints were created by the design studio ME & HIM & YOU, which is based in Dublin. The duo Peter O’gara and Ronan Dillon designed and hand screened the first poster of their original city print series “Dublin, Ireland” three years ago.

The series of city screen prints feature a trio of landmarks and an iconic drink – or, in the case of Hong Kong, a one-bite dim sum. For the limited edition of the Dublin city print, they even added a drop of Guinness to the ink and printed on Rothmill Cream, the same paper used in the original Guinness posters.

Peter and Ronan say here “that their city prints were inspired by the long history of people from Ireland striking out for foreign destinations—and by the fact that so many of their own friends and family have left to find work elsewhere”. Here is also a quick video of the launch of the exhibition at PMQ and you can see each poster in greater detail on their website ME & HIM & YOU.
