+++ Update August 2016: Unfortunately this outlet is closed and the only shop still open is in Tin Hau ++=
I always wanted to try the liquid nitrogen-frozen ice cream creations from Lab Made in Tin Hau, but the queues were always too long. So when I saw that there was no queue at their newest outlet at the Pulse in Repulse Bay, I quickly placed my order.
During Easter, they had four special flavours on offer: Tim Tam Chocolate, Easter nest (an adaptation of Rocky Road), Tofu with burnt sugar and strawberry with yokult.
I tried the final two – and they are both very tasty. The strawberry flavour comes out stronger than the tofu flavour – but both combinations worked for me. They were not too sweet and they were creamy enough (I have heard friends complain that the liquid nitrogen process created too many ice crystals in their portions, but I did not notice this issue).
My only complaint would be that the temperature was so hot that the ice was molten almost within minutes… I should have stayed inside the cold shop, rather than sit on a bench in the sun!
That looks so yummie! I heard they have a shop in Causeway Bay, too. I definitely will try it one day!
Yes. It was always on my list to try it so I’m happy I did. Usually the CWB one has long queues which deters me but maybe you are more lucky than I am?! Good luck giving it a go!
