Be quick – the Charity Christmas Card sale is on today, Friday October 16, from 10am to 5pm at St. John’s Cathedral in Central.
The Community Advice Bureau and the St. John Cathedral have been organising this event since 1977, year after year. This year, over 20 charities are represented at the Fair, with a selections of themed handicrafts and Christmas cards and they include charities that look after disabled, elderly and also animals.
I fell in love with some unique Hong Kong cards and wrapping papers, which are actually not Christmas-themed (but there are many Christmas ones on sale!). They are printed by The Lion Rock Press, which supports Mother’s Choice. All proceeds of the Christmas items goes to support this wonderful charity.
Mother’s Choice was founded in 1987 by a small group of people concerned with the plight of Hong Kong’s single teenagers, and their families, coping with crisis pregnancies. Today, Mother’s Choice continues to transform the lives of thousands of young girls, babies, special needs children, and their families. Their vision is that no girl or baby is left alone in Hong Kong.
It’s for a good cause – and it is a nice little fair in the heart of Hong Kong. So hopefully you can visit it today – shame it is not held on a weekend though!
