There’s a natural infinity pool on Lantau and it’s not the best kept secret. Quite a lot people know about this place, so it was not surprising that it was quite packed when we visited it last Saturday.
We walked from Shek Pik to Tai O (here’s the full post) and just before we hit Tai O, we walked past the steps that climb up to the Man Cheung Pool.
It is about 20 minutes uphill, on a slightly overgrown footpath.
There were already quite a few hikers and explores around and in the pool. Some even sat on the corner of the pool, above the drop. How scary!
The Man Cheung Po pool is fed by the waterfalls surrounding it. It looks natural, but the damn is man-made. Still, it is a fantastic place to cool down!
That looks lovely, we always head for natural pools, although I don’t think I’d let my kids in there no matter how good swimmers they are – bit of a big drop!
Wow, that looks gorgeous there! Is the pool itself deep? And how is the temperature of the water in it?
Yes – the main pool is at least 4-5 m deep at its centre. The temperature is nice and refreshing, slightly cool but not freezing (at least not on a 30 degrees day!)
That’s deeper then I expected!
Great blog!
You forgot to mention the $50,000 fine if you get caught swimming there…signs everywhere…
Fair point – and yes, swimming is not allowed and totally at every swimmer’s own risk!
