Ok, I admit it – some things take longer to reach me! I had no idea there was a 3D light show at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre and the Clock Tower at Tsim Sha Tsui, that will coincide with the Hong Kong WinterFest. I just happened to stumble upon it after leaving the Cultural Centre after a very cheesy Christmas concert.
The last day of the show is today (Dec 29) and you can see it at 8:30pm, 9pm, 9:30pm and 10pm (about 15 minutes per session). It features some fun graphics, such as robots dancing and airplanes flying around – but the best part for me is the Clock Tower, which looks like its made out of ginger bread – they should have decorated it in that way for Christmas!
In case you can’t make it tonight, you can also watch it between Feb 14 and Mar 5 as part of the Chinese New Year celebrations in 2015 (the only night they won’t be showing it will be Feb 19). The show will feature different graphics for Chinese New Year. You can even download the sound track app here.
The show is free to watch, the HK Tourism Board sponsored it. All you have to do is to walk up to the viewing deck and look over to the Hong Kong Cultural Centre which acts as a giant screen.
